Milk Supply

To ensure the highest quality assurance with full traceability, all milk producers working in partnership with Belton Cheese are carefully selected using our own farm monitoring system.
Milk is collected daily by our tankers from local farms, all within a 25 mile radius of the cheese dairy, ten of which are organic with others in conversion.

Testing

When the milk arrives at the dairy a sample is taken by the laboratory and tested for any inhibitory substances, such as antibiotics or parlour washings before the tanker can start unloading the milk. If the milk fails then it is rejected and disposed of.

Once the milk has passed the tests it is pumped from the tanker to a milk storage silo ready for making into cheese the following morning.
